Genre-defying Hungarian artist blending electronic, orchestral, folk, and cinematic music through VR and live performances.
Yamazaki is a Hungarian artist who spent nearly 20 years building an identity around a wolf — and only recently understood why.
Born Benedek Rakovics, he registered Yamazaki as an official trademark in 2026 — making the wolf legally his after two decades of it being real in every other way.
Known for hybrid performances — wearing a fursuit on physical stages while projecting a live VR avatar — Yamazaki creates music that is as visually specific as it is emotionally honest. His work sits at the intersection of J-pop, synthwave, orchestral folk, and something harder to categorize: the sound of a person finally letting the parts of themselves they kept hidden actually speak.
He made history on Csillag Születik (Hungary's Got Talent) as the first act to bring real-time VRChat performance to national television. His work has been featured in Rolling Stone Spain, SPIN, IGGY Magazine, aired on Tokyo's InterFM, and performed at Virtual Market and Furality. In 2026 he joins Furality Ultra as an event host.
The Japanese chapter of his music is closing. What comes next is closer to the bone: less armor, more person. He writes for listeners who never felt they fully fit in. He is still one of them.
